Taste of Art is a television culinary competition series that challenges professional chef teams to transform everyday ingredients into high-end, edible works of fine art. Filmed right here in Queenstown, the show is co-hosted by former MasterChef Australia judge Melissa Leong and celebrated New Zealand executive chef Vaughan Mabee, and premiered on TVNZ+ and TVNZ 1 in February 2026.
Ten chefs across five teams took to a gallery-style stage, with each themed episode testing technical execution, visual deception, storytelling and flavour, pushing creativity well past what a normal restaurant service ever demands.
Representing TOAST & OAK, our team took that same challenge and ran with it, plating not just for the palate but for the eye. Finishing 2nd place is a reflection of the same creativity, precision and care we bring to the pass every night.
